The Weisman Art Museum Acquires "Seed" For Collection

The Weisman Art Museum, on the campus of the University of Minnesota, has acquired the sumi ink drawing titled “Seed” for their collection. I have been a fan of the museum since the very first time I set foot in it. One extremely cold winter afternoon in 1993, while visiting a friend who was attending the University, I stumbled into this unusual building to find a mix of Pop and Abstract Expressionist works. I was impressed with the space.

Fast forward 20 years… As a Jerome Fellow, I was asked to present my work to the Weisman ART MOB (a group of collectors from the area who collect works for the Weisman.) About a year after presenting my work to the ART MOB they contacted me about presenting them with a work for possible purchase. I’m pleased to say they were taken with the work and found the funds to acquire it.
